Jay Sheveck started in 1987 as a photographers assistant and continues today in motion pictures as your on-set technician and camera operator.
Jay is a graduate of RIT's School of Photographic Arts & Sciences. From camera PA to camera operator on set, he's done it. Jay also delved off-set into camera service and repair operations, management, and in remote systems, at three leading camera rental houses. Remote systems ultimately pulled Jay back into the field operating telescopic cranes and stabilized heads.
Jay brings a wealth of expertise and experience to each production. He has spent decades honing his craft in New York and in Hollywood (Atlanta, too), and is dedicated to sharing valuable tricks of the trade to create the best visuals possible. He opened Western Remote Systems, Inc., in 2024.
When Jay isn't behind the camera, you can find him home brewing award-winning beers or making really strange wines.
The TITAN Head by MotoCrane™, is the most powerful remote head in production today. Weighing in at just 46 lbs., the Titan Head features slot-less motors and slip rings on each axis capable of endless 360º rotations whilst carrying payloads of up to 90 lbs at driving speeds up to 100 miles per hour. The Mini Scorpio Stabilized Head V by ServiceVision is a new level in the small stabilized heads. Following the principles of the Scorpio Stabilized V, the design of the new gyros, new mechanics and new software allows to be small and light with high capacity and high level of stabilization. Weighing in at just 35 lbs., the Mini V can carry a 45 lb. payload rotating 360º on both Pan and Roll at 180º per second. Focal length stabilization up to 200 mm!
